1 What is the incentive and pricing scheme?

At FON, we'd like to keep things VERY CLEAR AND EASY to accommodate as many of you with one Retail Program.
To kick off this Retail Program, we have developed one simple pricing structure with a high margin for Retailers:

• EUR 39.95 + EUR 5.- standard shipping FON Retail price includes VAT.
• EUR 34.44 net FON Retail Price (at 16% VAT)
• EUR 20.00 FON wholesale price
• EUR 14.44 margin for Retailer (equal to 70% margin on EUR 20.- price)

Minimum order volume is 50 units - no shipping cost. FON requires prepayment for this Special Offer.
If you would like to order more than 500 units, please contact us.
This offer is valid for only countries located in the EU (excluding Norway and Switzerland), and FON reserves the right to change this pricing structure at its own discretion.

2 What do I do in countries outside the EU? Currently, this Retailing Program is only valid within the EU. For Norway and Switzerland and other non EU member states, we are happy to make the same offer, but all shipping, customs and local taxation will have to be covered by the local retailer.
3 Will my shop appear on the FON webpage?

FON offers the following coverage:

  • Listing the Retailer on the FON Retail Partner page
  • Mentioning the Retailer on the FON.com website in "Shopping" section (under constructions)
  • FON Blog entries for selected retailers
4 What kind of advertising materials will FON provide?

Advertising material: FON will provide you with available advertising material in data format once your order has been approved. Later on, we will provide you with a package of physical advertising material.

5 What are the warranties, e.g. for defective hardware? To date, FON has received very few worldwide complaints regarding defective hardware. Nevertheless, FON will replace defective hardware. The Retailer will return to defective hardware at the Retailer’s cost to FON, and FON will delivery to the Retailer a new La Fonera WiFi Router. All La Fonera WiFi Routers have a two year warranty.
6 What is FON? FON is the world's largest WiFi community. Founded in 2006 in Madrid, Spain, FON's mission is to stimulate growth of WiFi Internet access through its WiFi sharing Community of "Foneros". FON’s La Fonera WiFi Routers have been specifically designed to enable Foneros to share their home access points with the FON Community. In return for sharing, Foneros gain free WiFi access everywhere in the world they find another Fonero. FON's investors include Google, Skype, Index Ventures and Sequoia Capital. 7 Can I get more details about the La Fonera? Product details for the FON Router La Fonera WiFi Router can be found in the retail_summary, the FON_Shop, the technical_summary and in the La_Fonera_User_Manual (pdf with 12MB).
8 Why is FON unique? The La Fonera WiFi Router is not only a state-of-the-art WiFi Router enabled with cutting-edge technology, and an attractive, compact design, it is also a passport to the Internet around the world. Currently about 100.000 FONspots are online around the globe. Each user that provides WiFi for the FON Community with a La Fonera can roam on all these FON access points for free. Thus, the La Fonera is more than just a WiFi Router.
9 Is this Retail Programm available in other languages?

Currently, this Retail Program is available only in English. We apologize for any inconvenience this may entail. In the future and to the extent possible, FON will provide additional advertising materials in the languages available on the FON website.

10 What if I want to purchase less than 50 units? This Retail Program has been established for quantities between 50 and 500 units. For any order below 50 units, please purchase the hardware directly from the FON online Shop.
11 What is the FON Retail Pricing over time?

The price in the FON Shop and our recommended retail price for the La Fonera Router will be EUR 39.95 (incl. VAT) + EUR 5.- shipping. To accommodate the many requests for becoming official FON Distribution Partners, the Retail Program price of EURO 20.- per unit is limited until March 31, 2007.

12 How will the Routers be delivered? The delivery will be done in bulk and to one adress only. As soon as shipping will be ready, we will provide you with more details on the delivery.
13 What kind of customer support do Foneros receive?

FON offers two types of customer support.
